Highbury garden design, North London
A GARDEN INSPIRED BY JAPANESE PRINTS
Inspiration for this garden was drawn from two main sources: firstly Japanese prints, where views of a natural landscape are often captured through open windows, and secondly the secret garden – the idea of a walled, forgotten space with an air of mystery.
GEORGIAN ARCHITECTURE
The Georgian architecture of the house, with its rectilinear character and clean lines, was also a factor in the design and we have used the juxtaposition of formal and informal for dynamic contrast within the space, which is also akin to Japanese design aesthetic.
Tabitha and Helen were fantastic to work with, understanding our needs for a garden suited to a growing family and for entertaining. We were blown away by their visuals which brought the project to life and have been consistently impressed with their attention to detail, patience and communication throughout the process.
