Frieth Garden design, Buckinghamshire
A FRIETH GARDEN DESIGN INSPIRED BY THE ARCHITECTURE
Inspiration for this Frieth garden design was drawn from the architect-designed house, with its clean lines, rectilinear character and natural material palette. The knapped flint panels on the façade inspired an exploration of organic shapes, which were brought into the garden with boulders and curved beds of loose planting style. The brief called for a spacious outdoor dining area, as well as plenty of space for the children to play.
A MEADOW GARDEN IN FRIETH TO BENEFIT WILDLIFE
The intention with this garden was to ground the house within the landscape using a naturalistic planting style and some carefully chosen specimen trees, to give this family a flexible, multi-purpose space to enjoy. The wildflower planting scheme was conceived to give habitat to the resident great crested newts, as well as to encourage other wildlife and insects into the garden. The meadow even concealed a sunken trampoline for the children.
Tabitha listened to our brief carefully and developed ideas we had, as well as bringing her own. She was flexible and budget-aware throughout. The garden is still establishing, but we have had many compliments and the wildlife love it.
